King ready to face Hull
by Ben Blackmore, 03 October 2008
Ledley King has revealed he plans to stay in Tottenham’s defence for the visit of Hull, in order to help Spurs win their first league game of the season.
King’s career has been treated with great delicacy following serious knee surgery, with manager Juande Ramos picking and choosing the games that his skipper plays in.
The England defender is yet to feature in matches played in quick succession this season, but after helping Spurs qualify in Europe, King hopes he can play another 90 minutes against Hull on Sunday.
"It's something we'll have to look at with the manager and the medical staff," King said.
"It's a delicate situation at the moment but hopefully I'll be involved.
"It's still difficult to say how it's going to be. I want to be there for the team but it's early days and at the moment, they're just trying to get me involved in certain games.
"It's tough because I want to play but I am aware of what I have to do for the team, and that's how it has to be at the moment."
