Brown belittles transfer talks

Michael Brown has played down talks of a move to Premier League new boys Stoke and is relishing the competition for a place in the Wigan team next year.
Following Lee Cattermole's arrival at The JJB Stadium, Brown has been linked with a switch to Stoke, but he is adamant that he wants to stay at Wigan.
"I got a text message over the weekend from a mate saying they'd read something about Stoke," he told the Wigan Observer.
"It was the first I knew about it. I enjoy it here and I'm looking forward to the new season.
"Of course I welcome the competition. It keeps you on your toes knowing you've got to play well to stay in the side."
Meanwhile, Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has denied rumours that he is interested in Brown.
Rumours had been circulating that Blackwell was keen to bring the midfielder back to Bramall Lane, where he enjoyed four successful seasons with The Blades before being snapped up by Tottenham.
"We haven't had a dabble with Michael," Blackwell told the Wigan Evening Post.
"He's a Premier League player on big, big wages."
