As a wearer of TOMS shoes, a lot of people have asked me which specific parts of the world receive aid in the form of the free shoes. The answer is: wherever they are needed. Currently, TOMS are involved with a project in Port Au Prince, Haiti, where there are still hundreds of thousands of displaced earthquake victims living in camps, where conditions are often appalling, covered in debris and other dangers, and children in particular need to protect their feet.

US TV presenter Louise Roe wore some interesting creations to the CBS summer party in Los Angeles last night; a seriously dressed-up event with the likes of Ashley Tisdale, AnnaLynne McCord and Shenae Grimes in attendance. WhileTisdale and others went for the relatively 'safe' option of Louboutin heels, Roe (also a fashion journalist, so we assume she knows what she's doing!) rocked up in these unusual looking platforms.

A fresh collection released in the past month just keeps on delighting, and on a recent trip to the brand's new store in Covent Garden, Ms Shoewawa found herself seriously tempted by quite a few of the styles; in particular, these lovely red suede heels from Carvela. which look like they're just begging to be stroked!

For me ribboned heels either fall into the risqué bondage look, or the pretty ballerina style. These ribbon heels from Deichmann definitely fall into the former category.

The ribbon detail interlaces with the leather straps, giving it a tough look that wouldn't look out of place on the feet of pint-sized popstar Rhianna or crazy lady singer Lady Gaga.

It's a big of a bargain too at £19.99. It lands in stores this week. Wear with skinny jeans or a bandage dress for rock chick chic.

I'm fairly surprised to see something quite so experimental-looking from Sam Edelman but here you have it: a boot that would look far more at home in the Irregular Choice catalogue. It's taken its cue from all the boxy, angular wedge boots that have been on our radar for a while now, and I think it's a look we could probably get used to. What do you think?
