Rose studded sandals at Dorothy Perkins

These pale rose sandals from Dorothy Perkins are homing in on our 'great for the summer' radar just now. I'm not entirely sure they needed to festoon the straps with two different tones of stud, or possibly even any studs at all, but I can be a bit overly minimalist in my tastes and might be nit-picking there.

It's hard not to love these dusky-pink suede peep toes from Miss Selfridge. Despite being a little cartoonish, they're undeniably cute, and the ruffled, polka-dot rosette really makes them, giving a slight vintage feel.

These Primrose heels on the left from Accessorize caught my eye thanks to their vintage looking cutout detail.

Actual good quality vintage heels are hard to come by, so this pair of gold dancing shoes are a high quality alternative. Priced at £55, they're a hell of a lot cheaper too.

What do you think about imitation vintage shoes? Do you prefer the real thing, or would you be happy to buy this new alternative?

Faith sale opens with 20% off

Faith kicked off a three day sale today with 20% off their entire range. I've haven't really made a point of visiting Faith since my late teens, bypassing it for Office or Dune, but I'm willing to have a good browse of their website.

The Cartini shoe on the left comes in an assortment of colours, but the muted black is definitely a classic. The half bow makes a nice change to the huge extravagant bows gracing a lot of shoes at the moment.

It's £56 in the sale.

If you've been tempted to join the Swedish Hasbeens club, Yoox is currently the best place to find the comfy-stylish shoes at a reasonable price. They've also brought out this platform sandal style in a variety of yummy colours, including the popular pale pink shade and high-shine gold.

Just occasionally, I feel almost guilty about my anti-Ugg sentiments, so it's nice to have something positive to say about them for a change. Presumably unable to prosper on winter sales alone, the brand has moved into summer footwear - and I have to say I approve of their latest collection of flip flops.

Almost every corner of the UK has seen some sun this week, and the result in most quarters has been frantic and in some cases over-enthusiastic wardrobe re-vamping by sun-starved Brits. I've certainly had my sandals on for the first time this year (although I haven't ditched the tights just yet) and many are heading for the shops to buy new pairs.

Sandals with socks have been the biggest fashion no-no for longer than anyone can remember, but apparently, they're now the hottest thing since sliced bread. At least that's what you might think if you took runway fashion a little too literally. Many designers, including Elie Saab (above) have featured the forbidden look in their shows, and the style is threatening to spill out on to our streets. Some may be pleased to hear this news: not everyone likes the feeling of leather against bare skin after all. But others may fear the crimes against fashion that may soon be going unchecked.

This one's less of an obvious bargain than the £10 heels, but with a 60% reduction, these lovely summer sandals from Pedro Garcia are a fantastic buy. They're very much this season's style, with thick straps, exposed platforms and cork wedges. But they've decided to go and knock down the price anyway.

Magazine Machine drew my attention to these tie-dye boots from Opening Ceremony today, and I couldn't help but share them here with my fellow shoe-gazers. Oasis Lily Platform Sandals

Ah Oasis, you really are spoiling us at the moment.

These Oasis Lily Platform Sandals are adorned with a flower/bow hybrid, leaving it half way between a shoe boot and a standard high heel.

I adore the front of the design, and the sole and high heel has an interesting texture which contrasts well with the suede upper.

They do look a little strange on the model on ASOS.com, which accentutes the block platform a little more than this image. At £80, they're a cheaper yet luxurious looking alternative to the structural heels in the designer boutiques.
