When the fish pedicure first came to public attention it caused cries of disgust amongst the beauty community. Letting little fishes nibble away the dead skin on your feet just didn't sound like a pleasant experience. However people's view relaxed somewhat when they realized this could be a nice 'natural' solution to ridding themselves of calluses and fish spas became more commonplace. They've never made it to the UK though, so when I was in Thailand I decided to try it out for myself. The idea is that the Garra Rufa fish are attracted to the dead skin on the feet and will eat that way, revealing healthy skin beneath. The suction from the fish is said to leave the skin more radiant and plumped up.

Jacob Kimmie showcased his latest collection 'Pilgrim' at London fashion week this year, but whilst the fashion crowd may have gasped in wonder over his use of sheer silk and Aztec styled dresses, we couldn't help but adore the decorative gold masks and smokey eyes that adorned the models. The show was inspired by the idea of religious ritual in modern day society and their Aztec ancestry, and the show had a dark yet playful spirit. the final model held a baby in her arms, which fused together the notions, and all models sported kohl rimmed eyes. Black liner was used in excess to compel attention to the eyes,with the rest of the face being left neutral with pale skin and nude lips. Hair was tied black and plaited in intricate designs atop the head, and then sprayed firmly into place. I like the use of plaits on the catwalk, as this is a trend that's becoming very apparent this year and with a little work could be easily translated into a high street style.

Paul Costelloe @ London Fashion Week Runway Rundown: Flawless faces and beehive hair

Paul Costelloe opened London fashion week this year, and the anticipation was palpable as the light went down and the first bars of music started to play. Out came a selection of models dressed in quasi Gothic garb, mixing feminine style foundation with structured shoulders and pelmet skirts that paid homage to the Elizabethan era. It was refreshing to see how the models at Costelloe had recaptured the essence of skin, as there wasn't a hint of bronze in sight. The trend seemed to be all about creating the perfect natural face, but one that allowed the natural tone to shine through- more about enhancing than disguising ones own complexion. The pale trend was evident amongst the models, with the faces being kept quite bare, save for feline flicks of black eyeliner. The feminine look was juxtaposed with the use of a powerful hairstyle, an elongated backcombed beehive that added gravitas to the models.
