Sulis London is tucked away behind Oxford Street, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to indulge in some post hair shopping. Upon entering it you're welcomed by a friendly receptionist and invited to take a seat on the deliciously inviting Union Jack decorated chaise lounger. Glass chandeliers decorate the ceiling and there are polished mirrors lining the walls. The design is kept quite minimalist so you get a cool but classy vibe, and the magazines are all up to date (always important). I was ushered to a seat where the technical director, Melanie Lewin talked me through what I was looking for, and we decided that as well as a root touch up we'd also add some highlights to my hear to break the colour up a bit more. She was very attentive and listened to me explain how I was going for a whiter blonde, rather than golden and took that into consideration, as she then applied two colours for the highlights to add depth and tone to the hair. I really liked how much attention she paid to my wishes, and was impressed with her experience, as she has previously styled models for Issa, Julian Macdonald and Alice Temperley, specializing in blonde tones. I was kept comfortable with drinks and magazines as I waited for the dolour to take and admired the glossy cabinets full of Bumble & Bumble products- the salons preferred brand.

I'm a serious mascara junkie but when this popped onto my desk I was initially unimpressed. Sure the tube looked nice and chunky, and the design was sleek and minimalist but the brush was a rather delicate looking yellow wand, and I thought it wouldn't be able to give my lashes the volume I desired.

London Fashion Week played host to many stunning styles and cutting edge creation, but one hairdresser particularly stood out. Michael Barnes was the genius behind the tunning creations pictured above which blended his artistry with colour with his love of structured design. Three of his avant garde pieces graced the catwalk at Pierre Garroudi's LFW show. I love the fierce red colour and the hairpieces remind me of waterfalls and blood at the same time. The flowing pieces must surely have placed major pressure on the models, as these gravity defying pieces must have been quite a weight to bear!

When the fish pedicure first came to public attention it caused cries of disgust amongst the beauty community. Letting little fishes nibble away the dead skin on your feet just didn't sound like a pleasant experience. However people's view relaxed somewhat when they realized this could be a nice 'natural' solution to ridding themselves of calluses and fish spas became more commonplace. They've never made it to the UK though, so when I was in Thailand I decided to try it out for myself. The idea is that the Garra Rufa fish are attracted to the dead skin on the feet and will eat that way, revealing healthy skin beneath. The suction from the fish is said to leave the skin more radiant and plumped up.
