I'd like to say that matte has finally come back into fashion, but helooo, it has been stylish at least a year now, since last years fashion week. Still, there's no denying that makeupo brands have woken up to the allure that shine free style offers, and there are currently many options for the nail obsessed girl. Perhaps the simplest offering is Revlon's Matte nail varnish range, where you simply choose one of their many intriguing colours, slap on a a coat or two and go. That may be a great way to get into the matte trend, but it does leave your beloved range of varnishes looking lonesome.

What do you think of when you think of the Sex Pistols? I think sweat, punk, crazy rockers and mashed up hotel rooms. If it came to giving that impression a scent, well, I'd be a little flummoxed. This hasn't been a problem for the creators of the Sex Pistols scent though, as they've taken the 'best'impressions of the Pistols and done away with the grease or slime connotations. The unisex fragrance combines a tangy lemon with black pepper base for a memorable scent. They've also added leather, patchouli and heliotrope to balance those out, and I'm guessing the overall concoction will be a Marmite fragrance, getting some major devotees, and some major haters. There are so many spas nowadays, that everyone is trying new gimmicks t stand out, and the latest oddity to hit the block is a spa with a dedicated WOMB ROOM. No, not some sort of new age birthing area, but a room 'designed to re-create the journey of life starting with where it all began: the womb.'. The description is such that I feel it best to show you it verbatim, as I don't even need to paraphrase to make it funny. Oh, OK, maybe I'll just play a bit with bold and Italics. 'The womb room treatment is part of the hotel's 'Spa Experience' which includes 15 rooms designed to take you on a memory journey through life. When it comes to my lashes, I feel the longer the better, and that's echoed by No7 in the release of their latest mascara, No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara . They have created a two sided brush, one to help volumize the lashes, and one to define and separate them. An extra plus is the fact that the forumla is enrichred with vitamins and cadhmere keraytin to add condition to the lashes. So what;s he verdict? First impressions aren't great as the mascara coems in a clunky dark green tube that frankly isn't all that palatable. Still, let's not judge a mascara by its cover, eh? The actual mascara wand is a bright yellow, though it's hard to see that under the product. It's made of plastic and is very bendy, able to reach into the smallest corner of the eye without marking your skin. The wand is great at reaching every single lash- even the little ones- and the smaller side of the wand really helps elongate and define them.

I really HATE drying my hair. I know it's necessary but the noise just puts my teeth on edge. There also seems to be a time limit on when you can use one as well, as post ten o'clock and you're being rude to the neighbours. This may all change with news of the Philips Hush hairdryer, which is being sold as the quietest hairdryer IN THE WORLD! I like the sound of that. Every time I go to a salon I suffer an ecstasy of indecision regarding the tipping process. How much do I tip- and to who? Do I have to tip if I hate my hair? Often I end up not tipping (shame on me) as I simply don't know what to do, so I've decided to clarify this by asking top hairdressers to tell me what they think. A good rule of thumb (in my opinion) is to always carry cash, and try and tip the juniors rather than the salon owner, as they're on less money. I asked top UK hairdressers: What do you think is an appropriate tip in salon, and who should you tip? Dom-Creative Stylist for Sebastian Professional As with restaurants I would recommend 10%. It may be worth asking the receptionist how your Salons tip system works, it may be shared evenly amongst the team. Its great if you can tip whom ever had direct contact with you.
