Reading an article in the Daily Mail about Gail Porter's decision to recreate her famous naked portrait initially filled me with gladness for the previously aloepecia stricken star. No woman can have failed to be moved by Gail's hair loss ordeal or cheered by her recent hair regrowth. However, I was saddened to read some comments that she made about her weight earlier in the year.

Huge rise in numbers of people having obesity surgery on the NHS

It was reported today that the number of people undergoing bariatric surgery, such as stomach stapling or the fitting of gastric bands, has increased by nearly 800% in five years. In 2003-04 some 480 surgeries were carried out on the NHS, but this figure has risen to 4,246 procedures in 2007-08. The NHS claim that all of those treated were at risk of death without treatment and point to good success rates in keeping the weight off as justification.

Driving in my car today, a song came on the radio that caused a tightness in my chest and a sudden, urgent need to change the station. The song that prompted this was Don't Speak by No Doubt. It wasn't that I was mortally offended by Gwen Stefani's dulcet tones or the quality of the musicianship, it just reminded me of a bad break up.

Apparently, Amir Khan has claimed that Cheryl Cole's relationship with dancer Derek Hough is nothing more than a sham to "keep the photographers at bay". This seems rather odd to me, as barely a minute seems to pass without a new photograph appearing of the couple ostensibly enjoying their burgeoning relationship.

It's safe to say I'm fairly well stacked in the breast department. And I think that's a good thing! I'm not adverse to wearing low cut tops and showing off 'the girls'. But here's the thing. Whilst I think there's a difference between an appreciative glance and blatant leering, I don't think you can blame a guy for staring at you tits if your top is nearly down to your belly button.
