Now here’s a little gem. Although shot for peanuts with a no-name cast, it’d take a very hard person not to thoroughly enjoy this heartwarming yarn.
Jasper is a touchy filmmaker who is teaching three wheelchair-bound teenagers about the joys of the moving image. He’s such a condescending plonker, mind, that he soon alienates his pupils. And things going from bad to much, much worse during a trip to the countryside where they’re meant to shoot a short film.
Although a touch padded out, the laughs – most them of the uncomfortable variety – come at a decent rate, while the cast do a deft job of making us believe in and empathise with their characters.
