Suez Canal records 11.4% increase in revenues

Egypt: Egypt's Suez Canal Authority has said revenues grew 11.4% in the first 11 months of 2010 compared with 2009, Meed has reported. From January to November, total revenues at the waterway amounted to $4.3bn, compared with the $3.9bn in revenues recorded for the same period in 2009. The number of ships that passed through the canal in the first half of 2010 was 8,651, a 3.3% rise on the 8,375 ships that passed through the canal in the first half of 2009.
