Lily the drink: Dad Keith helps his singer daughter home

Lily Allen is doing her best to prove blondes really do have more fun.

Just days after showing her assets for the paparazzi in Cannes, she appeared a tad worse for wear after a party to celebrate the film How To Lose Friends and Alienate People.

The newly blonde singer seemed to be doing a good job of just that, as she appeared slumped over her father's knee in the back of a cab, apparently annihilated.

Earlier in the night, the 23-year-old was all smiles as she posed for snappers in an elegant floor-length black number.

She even made light of the topless photographs taken of her at the exclusive Hotel du Cap Eden-Rock resort in Cannes saying: "I heard I was a Page Three Girl today."

It all started so well as Lily smiled for cameras at the start of the evening

But the evening ended messily when the Smile star had to be carried off the venue by her embarrassed dad, and couldn't even hold herself up during the journey back to her hotel.

Dad Keith Allen gallantly doubled up as a bodyguard for Lily but couldn't conceal what appears to be a shiny engagement ring on her finger.

Lily sparked rumours of romance in Cannes a few days ago after she was pictured with a mystery hunk.

The singer has endured a torrid time romantically, following a miscarriage and recent break-up from Ed Simmons of the Chemical Brothers.

The only thing wrong with Lily Allen is that she gets too much press. It's over-kill, the press puts too much effort into making her sound like she has so many problems. This would make anyone feel insecure (which she does sometimes) for the most part she probably knows that her fans can tell the difference. Just because she stands next to Ed Simons doesn't mean there back together, and it really isn't anyone's business. Lots of people in America don't like George W Bush, Lily Allen is no different just because she's from the U.K. Partying when your young didn't just get invented, SHE'S LIVING HER LIFE!
