Não sei ao certo se é neste fórum mesmo que se escreve sobre isso mas aqui vou eu desabafar e deixar um aviso aos amigos bikers que as vezes exageram um pouco nas pedaladas... Sofri uma lesão do plexo braquial ocasionado por acidente de BTT no dia 22/11/2008 no Parque do Monsanto,em Lisboa. Tenho 36 anos,não bebo nem fumo e costumava praticar desporto desde pequeno. Dei entrada no Hosp.São Francisco Xavier com politraumatismo entre eles : Traumatismo cervical; torácico e crâneano. Estive em coma por 20 dias e internado por quase 3 meses passando também pelo Hosp. São José e Hosp. Santo Antonio dos Capuchos. Passei por cirurgia no HSJ no dia 27/01/2009 com o Dr.Gerardo Millan (cirurgia plástica) com transposição de nervos das duas pernas passando pelo peito ligando o braço bom-direito- ao braço lesionado e no início de mês de Março iniciei tratamento de fisioterapia no centro de reabilitação física do Hosp. dos Capuchos. Já li alguns relatos de pacientes sobre as dores terríveis e que das quais não pude escapar,infelizmente,mas que com a graça de Deus estão diminuindo aos poucos. Ainda sinto choques e espasmos frequentes com uma sensação de ardor e queimação muito forte, isto na mão esquerda,nas demais partes do braço não sinto mais dores,apenas falta de sensibilidade que tambem está a voltar aos poucos. Tive tambem uma luxação no ombro esquerdo ocasionada pela flácides e perda de musculatura,motivo ao qual usei por indicação das terapeutas um suporte para o braço que me causou muito incomodo devido o tamanho (um tipo de balão de ar com formato de saco-cama)mas que felizmente ajudou-me bastante.Tambem não costumo deixar o braço totalmente descaído por causa da sensação de peso, como se o braço fosse soltar do corpo,mas sei que é aconselhável tentar preservar movimentos mesmo que involuntários(com ajuda do outro braço). Senti sempre muito medo de que meu braço não fosse mais voltar a mexer mas estou notando aos poucos que estou a recuperar algum movimento,principalmente na mão,apesar do dito ardor forte que escrevi a pouco. Mais difícil mesmo pelo visto será recuperar o movimento do cotovelo,não tenho nenhum reflexo e nem estímulo. No momento não estou a trabalhar,sou motorista de Rent a Car e adoro meu trabalho como tambem pedalar(se um dia voltar será com mais juízo),viajar,fazer ginásio,etc... Sei que é muito demorado o tempo de recuperação e que cada caso é um caso mas estou me esforçando ao máximo para que eu recupere o possível de movimentos apesar de muito provável limitação. Sofri muito com depressão no início porque sempre fui totalmente independente desde muito novo e moro em Portugal há 9 anos também só. Desculpe se estou sendo muito detalhista mas é que tambem está a servir como um desabafo,desde já agradeço a oportunidade de poder relatar minha lesão que tanto mudou minha vida mas que está a me dar uma lição de humildade e me ajudando a conhecer e sentir novas sensações,mesmo que algumas desagradáveis. Costumo dizer que temos que tirar proveito de tudo nesta vida,mesmo nos momentos tristes e difíceis, e aprendermos algo de útil. Sempre tive paixão pelas bikes desde criança e depois de 8 anos sem pedalar finalmente pensei mais em mim e dei um presente a mim mesmo em Maio de 2008,uma Trek Fuel 80 novinha! Quase todas as noites eu saía para pedalar e relaxar um pouco depois de um dia de trabalho e as vezes também para espantar a tristeza por este ou aquele motivo. Hoje infelizmente apenas posso ter lembranças das boas pedaladas no Monsanto,na ciclovia de Cascais,etc...abusei e paguei por uma inconsequência minha,uma descida forte na pedreira do Monsanto numa tarde de folga. Espero ter conseguido aqui expressar tudo o que eu queria e apenas deixar um aviso aos amantes das bikes,sei que é difícil as vezes nos controlarmos durante a sensação maravilhosa que se tem em cima de uma bike mas por vezes abusamos,como eu por exemplo. Divirtam-se mas tomem sempre as precauções e cuidados, usem capacete e outros acessórios de segurança se possível para que assim não venham passar pela situação como a que estou a passar. Acredito ter tido um pouco de azar também na minha queda mas se eu tivesse tomado mais cuidado eu poderia estar hoje feliz e a pedalar,coisa que tanto gosto de fazer mas que dificilmente poderei voltar,pelo menos como antes...
