Three cars for British squad for season opener.

Having already completed two weekends of racing in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship, Trackspeed will contest its first race in the FIA GT Championship this weekend as the new season kicks off this weekend at Silverstone.

The team will run entries in both the full series and in the GT3 European Championship to continue a busy programme of competition with its Porsche models.

Having helped Trackspeed secure the Porsche Manufacturers' Cup last season, Richard Williams will continue to run in the GT3 series alongside David Ashburn as the pair look to build on the solid form displayed with the new 2008-spec Porsche GT3 Cup car at Oulton Park and Knockhill, while the second car will be shared by Andrew Shelley and Phil Nuttall – both drivers having competed for the team in the British series last year.

Williams and Ashburn will also run in the GT2 class of the full FIA series aboard a new Porsche 997 RSR and while it will lead to a busy weekend on track, Williams said he was ready for the challenge.

"Yes, we've got a lot of work on our hands but I think that gives us an opportunity to maximise the weekend for both David and myself," he said, "lots of circuit time, and hopefully lots of fun!"
