violence sells to teens
16-May-08 12:21:55
Looks very nice. I love the style of it.
16-May-08 13:15:45
@ charm, dont play it then ffs, its violent with blood or without so if your that botherd give it a miss. this is the only thing that even remotely has perked my interest in purchasing a wii, it looks like they are thinking of concentrating on the teen market now instead of non gamers eg adults that think "oh that looks fun you wave the controller around, and its the cheapest, i think we will get timmy one of these. that is the reason wii have sold sooo many units. also nostalga seeking 25 year olds that are still convinced that mario is so much fun when really.. its just a platforming game like all the rest BUT without a real plot or a main char that speaks properly.. ehem thats enough beating the wii up for me, maybee this is one of the many games that will come out that actually interest me... we'll see.

Seems a little gratuitous. Which isn't a problem if there's a solid game behind it, but it could end up trying to sell itself on shock factor alone. Which is not what the industry needs right now.
16-May-08 13:44:29
... i suspect Charm was being sarcastic. This game does however look hilarious and strangely old-school.
Must try not to raise ones hopes though....
16-May-08 13:49:30
Awesome
16-May-08 14:39:06
Masterful, York.

I'll be all over this. Just give me this and a next-gen God Hand sequel and I'll be very happy.
16-May-08 16:09:48
I'm not 100% sold on the style and the gameplay seems "Dead Rising" kinds of shallow.

Still, early days. Plenty of time to change my mind
16-May-08 19:06:07
yes, and i hope they colour in the graphics before it comes out.

ffs.
17-May-08 00:08:22
lol @ charm

grow some testicles.
17-May-08 11:10:19
tone down the game? you need to be in germany for that my friend.

there might be an option to turn it off. wont be toned down tho....sorry.
17-May-08 23:04:15
So sticking a signpost through someones head only becomes vile and gruesome if it's accompanied by a shower of blood?

The game as I understand it is about using the wiimote and your environment to dispatch enemies. Removing the blood is not going to turn it into harmless japery.
18-May-08 11:40:26
what trench said + 1.
18-May-08 17:43:33
The more over the top the better, since that makes it more removed from real life. Shoving a sign post through a persons eye and watching him dance around doesn't happen in real life. That's not how people die or get killed.
It makes the game over the top and silly, not greusome and gritty. Seeing how far you can go and all the weird things that can happen could be allot of fun, if there is more to it then that. But since this was just anouncement trailer we'll have to wait and see where it all goes.

"Then they'll have lost me as a buyer"

oh well dont think your part of there target audience anyway...sounds like your more into pacafist games.... Uno is good for that kinda thing. ;)

19-May-08 12:22:00
OMG its hellboy in a cell rendered game. ;)
19-May-08 12:38:28
YEAH baby!
I am PUMPED!
BRING. IT. ON.
etc...
19-May-08 18:34:45
@Charm: You're the kind of person who wants to go on a rollercoaster ride only to whine "I hope they tone down on the loopings because they make me sick".

Don't ride the rollercoaster then, and don't make idiotic pretentious comments like "they've lost me as a customer." Grow the hell up and stop ruining everyone else's fun.
20-May-08 12:42:23
dude you completely ignored the question trench threw at you, "So sticking a signpost through someones head only becomes vile and gruesome if it's accompanied by a shower of blood? " if you beat a guy up and there is no blood does this mean it was less violent to do so??..no. but the point is this is a video game not real so lighten up.

York wins this thread by a cuntry mile (yes, that spelling error was intentional).

Looks a bit shit to be honest.

21-Aug-08 17:24:41
whos York?
30-Aug-08 10:27:35
I'm York.

No hang on, wait...No, I'm Spartacus, sorry. Thought I was York there for a second.
