Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm - Trailer

Looks like the Naruto series is gearing up for a 'ridiculous special move' competition with Dragon Ball Z. We've all seen the old 'summon a giant, pipe-smoking frog' trick before, but the 'multiply yourself a thousand times then turn them all into giants, forming a massive human whip which you then pound your opponent into the ground with' is fresh on us.

Someone just crossed the Uncanny Valley of anime.
Fukken wow.

could they be using a similar engine to what the new DBZ burstlimit game uses

QTE's never a good sign.

Unless of course it's Shenmue :)

really good trailer this.

Looks like you are controlling an actual cel-animated cartoon! O.o

Never understood the QTE-hate, really. It works great when its well done. Like Shenmue, or even better in GoW.

QTE works very well when implemented properly. Here it is well done because of the way it add interactivity to the complicated "Jutsu" special attacks and shares a similarity to the formation of hand seals. It also allows the opponent to lessen the damge taken from specials which adds to nice balance since nobody likes having to sit back and take damage while a combo sequence finishes.
The important thing is that it is a garnish rather than the main dish.

QTE got some hate because at one point some developers got lazy and tried to pass off cut-scenes with button instructions as gameplay.

Who thought of the Ninja Storm name? I keep thinking Power Rangers.

Hope you have the option to change between the 3 different QTE methods like in last 2 Narutimate Accel titles, that said the QTE's real fit the style of fighting.

Please please have Japanese voices!

OK, that was weird. I forgot halfway through the trailer that I was watching a video game and not an animé cartoon.

superb!

That does look amazing. I saw an in-depth gameplay vid of Naruto vs Kakashi and I could have sworn it was the anime. They have the animations down perfectly.

i have the demo and there is both JAP and English in it, the quality of the demo (came with qore issue 2) is rather exellent and i must admit that i am really tempted to get it even though if i am not a beat em up fan.
