Wigan bidding to bring back Fulham's Jimmy Bullard

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is making a shock £3million bid to bring back old favourite Jimmy Bullard from Fulham.

Midfield dynamo Bullard made his name with the Latics during their rise to the Premier League, but left for Craven Cottage in 2006.

Bruce is fed up waiting for Middlesbrough to accept his offer for Lee Cattermole and has now switched his search to the popular Bullard, 29.

Boro were prepared to sell Cattermole until Reading hiked the price of their top target James Harper.
