Mirror launches mobile site

Screenshot of Daily Mirror's mobile website The Daily Mirror has joined its national newspaper rivals with the launch of a new mobile website.

Mirror Mobile will run alongside the print edition and mirror.co.uk as 'a fully converged third publishing platform', a press release from the publisher said.

News and sport content will be the focus of the mobile site, which will allow users to create a personalised news feed and mobile homepage.

The site is the first of 13 mobile newspaper websites to be launched by Trinity Mirror. The sites, which have been developed with Bluestar Mobile and Nokia, will cover regional and national Trinity titles.

The design of the new Mirror mobile site is in keeping with the paper's recently revamped website.

"The launch of Mirror Mobile takes the Mirror into new territory with new users and new audiences for advertisers," said Rick Gleave, head of Trinity Mirror interactive and mobile, in the release.

"Each of these brands will have a print title, a companion website and a mobile site, which is further proof that we are a growing multiplatform media business."
