IEC inlets suppress interference

A Tyco Electronics UK product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Mar 27, 2008

Next-generation IEC inlet filters combine compact dimensions, simple mounting and various connection options.

The EJ series from Tyco Electronics forms part of the next generation of RFI filter IEC connector packages.

Depending on application, EJ series RFI filter connectors are supplied for snap-in (EJS version) or screw mounting (EEJ version) and include improvements that result in higher attenuation and also substantially improved HF shielding due to the extended metal flanges around the sockets.

The EJ series connectors' compact dimensions, simple mounting and various connection options, make the devices suitable for a wide range of electrical and electronics applications, where connection to the electricity mains is made using an IEC connector, eg TV, audio and video devices, computers, fitness equipment, household appliances, as well as slot machines.

EJ series devices are equipped with an IEC320/C14 connector for currents of 1-15A (VDE 10A) and, for higher current levels of up to 20A (VDE 16A) with an IEC320/C20 connector.

In addition to the standard models, Tyco Electronics offers a medical (EJH) series that features a maximum leakage current of 5uA, making the device fully compliant with UL/IEC regulations for medical and dental devices.

All versions of the EJ series of RFI filter connector packages are UL and VDE approved and are also RoHS compliant.

Due to their outstanding price performance ratio, the RFI filter connector packages are an ideal solution for a variety of interference suppression problems.
