8bit oscilloscope provides automatic measurements

A Saelig Company product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Mar 27, 2008

The MSO5022 can automatically measure and display frequency and peak-peak/rms/mean values, but cursors can also be moved to make individual readings.

The MSO5022 is a low-cost, full- featured 25MHz two-channel benchtop mixed-signal oscilloscope.

It offers 8bit resolution, combined with a 16-channel logic analyser, and suits engineers and students.

The USB connection makes it easy to print stored results easy.

It has a 7.8in 640 x 480 colour LCD and is small enough and light enough to carry around.

With a buffer size of 4Msamples, the MSO5022's timebase range is 5ns/div to 5s/div, with synchronous 8bit sampling on both channels.

its sensitivity range is 5mV/div to 5V/div with a maximum display of +/-50V.

Signal triggering options include: auto, normal, single, edge, video and alternate modes.

It is housed in a 368 x 177 x 135mm case and powered from 100-240V AC 50/60Hz, and consumes less than 15W and weighs less than 1kg.

The MSO5022 can automatically measure and display frequency and peak-peak/RMS/mean values, but cursors can also be moved to make individual readings.

A built-in self-calibration facility improves measurement accuracy.

Video monitoring is also possible since you can trigger on NTSC/PAL/SECAM line or field waveforms.

Another useful feature is the ability to store four waveforms and settings for comparison with live inputs.

A persistence control simulates old analogue scopes to compare slow-moving waveforms with previous scans.

The X-Y display allows the user to see phase changes.

A+B and A-B math capability is also included.

Accessories provided with the MSO5022 include two x1/x10 passive oscilloscope probes, a 1.2m lead, a logic probe, CD manual, PC download software and a USB cable.
