Sealed tact switches offer new features

Tact switches are available in a variety of configurations, including vertical and right-angle mounting, top or side actuation and with a soft or hard actuator.

C+K Components has developed new versions of sealed through-hole subminiature tact switches.

Designated the KSA family, the tact switches consist of the KSA, KSL, KSB, KSI, KSFI, KSJ and KSD devices.

The switches are available in a variety of configurations, including vertical and right-angle mounting, top or side actuation and with a soft or hard actuator.

According to Eric Grange, Product Market Manager for C+K Components: "The KSA tact switch family features have a proven success rate with our customers worldwide and we are glad to offer new features and configurations out of the numerous existing ones".

"Our combination of high quality, high reliability and wide range of configurations allows the sealed subminiature tact switches to be specified in a broad range of applications and market sectors we offer based on a new plastic a higher resistance to environmental constrains".

"We have also upgraded our range through detent version which makes KSA series covering any customer need for though-hole tact switch with reliability".

The sealed KSA tact switches can be configured for harsh environment applications and can be adapted for different PCB thicknesses.

Ideal for automotive, consumer electronics, industrial and telecomms/networking applications, the RoHS-compliant tact switches have a life expectancy up to a million operations and feature an actuation force from 1.5 to 5N, including detect version with silver and gold coatings.

The KSA family of switches meets ISO9001/14001 and TS16949 standards.

Typical pricing for the KSA family of tact switches ranges from US $0.16 to $0.50 in quantities of 10,000 pieces.

Lead time is 4 to 10 weeks.
