Software eases design challenges

A Geomate product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 25, 2008

With GrafiCalc 2009 users can associate geometry, dimensions and smart calculations in a single worksheet.

Geomate has released GrafiCalc 2009 software, which enables users to simulate and solve a wide range of design and engineering challenges.

GrafiCalc 2009 seamlessly combines the disciplines of sketching, calculation and optimisation in a single application.

With GrafiCalc 2009 users can associate geometry, dimensions and smart calculations in a single worksheet.

Then as parameters are changed, the entire worksheet is updated automatically.

GrafiCalc 2009 is designed to help engineers boost productivity, reduce product development costs, improve quality and accelerate time to market.

It enables users to perform up-front "what if" analysis and validation of design parameters, backsolve exact geometry to satisfy desired functions and create a validated calculation knowledge base for re-use and sharing.

They can also use existing CAD and calculation tools and re-use and share engineering expertise.

"Engineering companies are faced with an ever-increasing demand for more complex products, quicker delivery and greater levels of functionality of each product they design", said Shyamal Roy, founder of Geomate.

"These pressures raise the stakes of getting design right the first time".

"With GrafiCalc 2009, costly 'build-test-fix' procedures are dramatically minimised to faster time to market with higher-quality designs".
