The Sign and Digital UK 2008 exhibition will see Esko Artwork demonstrate its Kongsberg i-XL24 samplemaking table with I-cut 6.2.

The vision control system with integrated I-script workflow system will be able to be seen on stand H30 at the show.

According to Esko, the adoption of flatbed digital printing in the sign, display and POP sectors has expanded creative design possibilities and placed a greater emphasis on digital finishing systems.

For those reasons, Esko believes that the Kongsberg i-XL series complements digital printing of signs and displays by providing a finishing system for the range of materials, providing automation, productivity and precision.

The Kongsberg i-XL finishing tables are claimed to be cost-effective and include features that save time and improve quality, whilst being suitable for plywood, acrylics, polycarbonates, Dibond, rigid PVC, wood, corrugated cardboard and high pressure laminates.

At Sign and Digital UK, Esko Artwork will demonstrate the I-cut 6.2 Vision control system and I-script workflow that is claimed to generate registration and direct control for die-less cutting contours to perfectly match printed images.

The I-cut camera is said to measure each printed object using register marks to define the position and to compensate for any dimensional changes, distortions, or material variations such as shrinkage, or stretching.

Paul Bates, Esko Artwork's UK and Ireland's sales manager, commented: "The sign and display market is a strategic element of our focus.

We are moving in to these markets with a significant presence using our research and development and long-established experience in the development of innovative technologies.

The robust growth in the sign and display market is driven by companies with leading edge creative design and the capabilities to bring their ideas to fruition." He added: "The Kongsberg i-XL range is an ideal investment for the wide format digital printer who is looking for a profitable finishing system.

The finishing tables' versatility and productivity enables printers to win new business in the sign and display marketplace." Esko Artwork added that in the UK it is supported by Mill Pond Graphics, Litho Supplies and Raster Print, which sell the Kongsberg i-XL series to Signage, POS and POD printers.

Raster Print will also demonstrate an Kongsberg i-XL20 sample making table at the Sign and Digital show on stand D50.
