Packaging Workflow Software Eases Collaboration

An EskoArtwork product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 22, 2008

Esko Artwork will exhibit its packaging software that is claimed to turn the packaging supply chain in to a straight forward collaborative process at Sign and Digital UK 2008.

The company said that its workflow system handles a range of functions, from job and product specification, through to graphic and structural design and pre-production operations.

For example, Deskpack tools harness the desktop for display design, turning Adobe Illustrator seats in to fully-featured Backstage clients, enabling CAD layouts to be imported in to design.

It is also claimed to enable the interactive viewing of designs in 3D, whilst fully-completed files can be sent directly to Flexrip for output.

Esko Artwork said that its ArtiosCAD 7.3, the latest component for structural design, offers full import and export support for Solidworks 3D CAD files.

Complete 3D CAD integration is claimed to allow quick prototyping of designs and presentations, whilst eliminating communication errors and reducing design review cycles.

ArtiosCAD 7.3 is also said to provide a series of specifications for a selection of materials, such as corrugated board, plastics and foam, for instance.

The new 3D export formats for the creation of presentations and assembly drawings contain animations and background illustrations.
