Software Creates More Impact For
Promotional Mail
Content Author is claimed to enable the addition and updating of content to create eye-catching transpromotional messages within documents.
That is according to Pitney Bowes subsidiary, Group 1 Software, which has just released the product as an extension of its Doc1 Series 5 document composition software Content Author is claimed to allow marketing personnel, business analysts and other people in various business functions, to collaborate on document content, where content needs to change frequently but in a controlled manner, with no risk to the integrity of the overall application

The luxury of devoting specific inserting technology to particular applications is one that is not open to every business, according to Pitney Bowes.
The system's web-based interface is also said to give users control of messaging, white space use, workflow, time frames, content and priorities.
The company added that rich, Microsoft Word-like editing and workflow functions take place within a standard web browser and the client can be directly incorporated in to existing portals, if required.
Review and approval workflow is built in to the system and is activated using email notifications.
Messages are housed in a server-based library, so users can write and review messages remotely, as well as share messages in their domains.
Creating and storing message content separately helps maintain the integrity of the underlying document applications.
Work areas and standard resources are defined and made available by an administrator function, said Group 1 Software.
Doc1 Series 5 is a component of Group 1 Software's Customer Communication Management (CCM) software suite, which gathers and manipulates data, streamlines document creation and distribution and ensures that information is accessible and secure, said the company.
Doc1 Series 5 is also said to enable businesses to design and generate high-volume, personalised communications for multi-channel delivery.
Alan Slater, vice president and general manager of Customer Communications Management (CCM) for Group 1 Software, commented: "Creating dynamic customer documents and embedding targeted messages in statements can be a highly effective marketing tactic.
