New Ferrari Nose Not Significant

During last week's testing at Barcelona, Ferrari debuted a new nose with intriguing holes cut into the top of it, leading to much speculation over their significance. Ferrari chief designer Nicholas Tombazis however, has stated the holes are not revolutionary and are just an aspect of normal aerodynamic development.

During last week's testing at Barcelona, Ferrari debuted a new nose with intriguing holes cut into the top of it, leading to much speculation over their significance. Ferrari chief designer Nicholas Tombazis however, has stated the holes are not revolutionary and are just an aspect of normal aerodynamic development. This is what he had to say:

"It is not something revolutionary that will make us two seconds faster. It is simply an aerodynamic development, like some others that are less obvious but perhaps even more important

[The nose did not debut earlier because of] the difficulty of producing enough spare parts in time for the first races, and also the need to pass the additional crash test."
