Team Parkalgar mechanics worked furiously overnight to rebuild his machine in readiness for the qualifying period, removing the engine from his number one Honda and shifting it over to his number two bike. Craig managed to secure third place on the grid during the overall qualifying period.
Craig said, “I had a fall but escaped injury, and the team worked hard and did a great job transplanting the engine from my number one machine into my second machine. I am pleased with my starting position but would have preferred pole position. I am looking forward to the race and getting on to the podium once again.”
Having only had the warm-up laps during the morning of the race to get his machine ready for the race, Craig settled into a good rhythm when the lights turned green and battled at the front of the field throughout the race. By the end of the race Craig managed to secure third position and another podium, hoisting himself up the rankings to fifth position overall after three rounds.
Craig said, “I enjoyed battling it out at the front of the field, and getting third position was a good result. It was a great race and, although the racer is frustrated at not gaining a win today, I did everything I could out there. Having crashed yesterday, my Parkalgar team worked their socks off - and only having the warm-up period to set the machine up, this third finishing position is for them. This is where we deserve to be racing, and I can’t wait for the next round at Assen for my next chance of winning a World Supersport race.”
