HT: Charlton 1-1 West Brom
By Jemma Tappenden March 21 2008
After 24 minutes of play at The Valley the scores are level between 10th placed Charlton Athletic and 3rd placed West Bromwich Albion. Two goals and three bookings have made for an interesting half of football, with very little to separate either side at this time. The Baggies pulled level 3 minutes before half time, almost identical to when the two sides met at the Hawthorns in December.

Charlton Athletic took the lead on the 30 minute mark after a foul by Pele on Jerome Thomas gave away a free kick.  The ball was played into the box by Darren Ambrose, where Greg Halford headed home into the left hand corner of the goal.

Albion grabbed a 43rd minute equaliser when Greening swung in a free kick from the left which was picked up by Kevin Phillips and fired home from 12 yards.

The three bookings all came in the last two minutes of the half, Zoltan Gera (unsporting behaviour) and Jonathan Greening (unsporting behaviour) went in the book for the Baggies, with Charlton’s Jose Vitor Semedo also being shown yellow for unsporting behaviour.
