Firefox 3 RC1 is available for download and testing
Mozilla has introduced its first release candidate of Firefox 3, making the software available for testing by members of the public.
The company is appealing for feedback from early adopters, web developers and members of its testing community before moving the software to the next stage of testing.
Firefox 3 won’t ship until Mozilla has fully confirmed the product is ready for wide-scale deployment. The company warns that users of the current iteration of Firefox 3 shouldn’t expect all their existing browser plug-ins to work correctly in this release.
Among other improvements within Firefox 3 come improved security, better ease-of-use, more personalisation features and - perhaps most important - much faster performance, lower memory requirements and improved reliability.
Firefox 3 release candidate 1 is available for download here.
