RIAA has dropped its prosecution of AllOfMP3.com
The RIAA has dropped its prosecution of AllOfMP3.com.
The RIAA says it is ending its action against the Russian music download website because the site is no longer operational, saying this means the music industry group has succeeded in its attempt to get the site shut down.
The Russian government shut down the site last year when US officials described AllOfMP3.com as a barrier to the country joining the World Trade Organization.
A new site, called MP3Sparks, has since sprung up in Russia, this site allows former AllOfMP3.com users to buy tracks using their existing log in and password details. The RIAA has not begun action against the new site, but says it expects Russia to take that site down also.
