Apple ramps-up its retail with Best Buy iPhone call
Best Buy today began selling the iPhone 3G across its US retail chain, following its deal with Apple to do the same.
The giant electronics retailer is working with Apple and US carrier, AT&T, to offer the iPhone on the high street in similar manner to the existing arrangement between Apple, O2 and Carphone Warehouse in the UK.
Best Buy will offer the Apple mobile device across its 970 full size stores as well as through its smaller 16 Best Buy Mobile shops. It's an extension of an existing arrangement which already sees the retailer sell Macs and iPods.
Apple is expected to achieve close to its ten million iPhone sales target for the year by the end of its current quarter.
