Monday, 13 October 2008 Wal-Mart takes on the iPhone
Giant US retailer will now offer the iPhone for sale in its stores
Giant US retailer Wal-Mart is expected to begin selling iPhones in-store from 15 November, following similar moves by Best Buy.
The Boy Genius Report makes the new claim, pointing out that this would put the product on shelves just two weeks before what is traditionally the busiest shopping day of US retail, 29 November.
In September, Best Buy began selling iPhones through its 970 full size stores and 16 smaller mobile retailers.
Best Buy, based in Richfield, Minnesota, operates more than 1,150 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, China, Mexico and Turkey. Earlier this year it purchased a half-share of Carphone Warehouse.
