Movie-Con Booking Now Open Book your tickets for Hellboy 2 and more
If you want to get in on a sneak preview of some of the most exciting upcoming comic-book movies then the place to be is Movie-Con. Empire has joined forces with the British Film Institute to put on a jam-packed schedule of treats and teasers from the upcoming action, fantasy and superhero slate, all of which will unfold at the BFI Southbank in London on the weekend of August 16-17.
The full schedule is currently under wraps but there will be fresh material coming over straight from the San Diego Comic-Con, as well as the opportunity to buy DVDs, posters and film goodies galore. We'll be revealing everything right here on the site as the time approaches but in the meantime Empire readers can book exclusive advance tickets by simply calling the BFI on 020 7928 3232 and quoting the code found on page 36 of the August issue (on sale now).
A general pass to the event is £25, with tickets to an exclusive preview screening of Hellboy II: The Golden Army on August 16 priced separately at £11.50, or £8.50 for concessions. Tickets are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.
There's a blog page for the Movie Con on the site as of yesterday evening, the link to which was in today's newsletter. It's not linked from the main homepage yet, but I'm sure it will be once more is added.

Its only like 3 weeks away and I'd love to go but I'd rather know who is going to be there....infact, ANYTHING about the weekend before I fork out a stupid amount of money to buy overpriced train tickets to London. Will there be panels, stalls, signings? Any info would be welcome at this stage as I've already missed out on seats for the film screening so dont want to get down to London to find out that teh only activity was the film sh... Read More
Question to Empire - any indication as to when the full schedule will be announced? I'm going to be booking Imax tickets for k Knighte same weekend, and I'm afraid of picking a time that will overlap with something uber-mega-cool at the Movie Con!
A more general question: does anyone have any idea if I can return tickets bought on the BFI's website? A double booking for II urred (this is what happens when eager people don't pay attention!), so I've an extra set of tickets. I'm looking to ... Read More
You can also book on the BFI website - .org.ukp;
This way you can chose your seats - I managed to get some seats in the middle at the back for the convention and there were only seats to the sides for the Hell Boy II screening.
So book up quickly if you're gonna go cos looks like they are selling pretty fast. ... Read More
