Full Imax Bits For Transformers 2 Maybe also Iron Man 2 & Y: The Last Man Source: Variety
Those of you lucky enough to have seen The Dark Knight on Imax screens this summer know that Christopher Nolan shot the film's six big action scenes in full Imax for maximum mindblowing impact. Well, Hollywood's never one to let a good idea die, so it looks like Michael Bay, Jon Favreau and DJ Caruso may follow suit on (respectively) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Iron Man 2 and Y: The Last Man.
To date, The Dark Knight has taken over $60 million on Imax screens, making it clear that this is a format worth bothering about (especially since ticket prices there are higher, which the studios approve of). Also, action sequences in full Imax were freakin' awesome. And Michael Bay, f'r instance, is never one to back away from a chance to show explosions in the most freakin' awesome format possible (see the evidence here), even if the cameras are a little more unwieldy than the normal sort.
The plan is that Bay will film "at least three action setpieces" in the format, with work on Transformers 2 well underway already. Favreau and Caruso have expressed an interest in taking a similar approach on their next big films, but since both of those are in the early stages of development, there's no firm word on their plans yet.
Great, now we can have those oh-so-messy-what-the-feck-am-I-looking-at action scenes so much bigger.
I don't think I can in good conscience give rmers 2ce. Number one actually bored me. and a film about big fuck-off robots form another planet should i] bore.

Does this mean Bay might also follow Chris Nolan's example and not suck anymore? Or at least stop having three 1-dimensional characters when one 3-Dimensional character would do? And less of the pop-culture references please ... it makes the movie out of date before you've even left the theatre. This guy made The Rock, which I love, and now all he makes is a big noise. ...
