ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Kazakhstan kicked off Europe's 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-0 home victory over Andorra on Wednesday.

Striker Sergei Ostapenko, who scored twice in the opening half hour of the Group Six match, put the Kazakhs ahead from a cross by Farhadbek Irismetov in the 14th minute.

Ostapenko increased their lead after a failed attack by Andorra allowed him to break away and get one on one with Andorra's goalkeeper Jose Moreira Gomes.

Fellow striker Roman Uzdenov sealed the win on the stroke of halftime scoring from a corner by captain Nurbol Zumaskaljev.

Kazakhstan's other rivals in the group, who all play their first qualifiers on Sept. 6, are Croatia, England, Ukraine and Belarus.
