Striker David Healy has admitted he could be set for a move from Fulham.
The former Preston forward has been strongly linked with a reunion with
Sunderland manager Roy Keane, his former Manchester United team-mate.
The 29-year-old has found himself sidelined by Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, and he
refused to rule out a move in the coming days.
He said: 'I'm not angling for a move but if the opportunity arose before the
(transfer) deadline and if something were to happen and Fulham give me the green
light, then who knows?
'(Last season) wasn't good enough for myself. Anybody that doesn't play week
in, week out is obviously going to be disappointed.
'But it's something as a footballer, as a striker, you become used to.
Strikers are probably rotated more than anybody.'
Wherever he plays this season, Healy is desperate to reproduce his
international form at club level.
Although Healy missed a penalty in last night's 0-0 draw with Scotland at
Hampden, his goalscoring record for his country has earned him hero status with
the Northern Ireland fans and recognition across Europe.
Healy, who scored a record 13 goals in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, does not want
to continue being asked why he cannot repeat such form at club level.
'It's always a question I can't answer - it probably gets asked about 12 times
a year,' he said.
'People say international level is a bit slower but I've scored against
Liechtenstein and Malta, I've scored against England and Spain. There are all
sorts of different defenders.
'It would be nice to put my finger on it and start scoring a few goals at club
level, and maybe kill off the question.'
