The NCTJ’s Journalism Skills Conference brings together decision-makers in journalism’s education, training and industry sectors and is a must-attend annual event for those who are passionate about quality multimedia journalism.

Following the success of the the International Women’s Day meeting on sexism in the media:'Where are all the women?, the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) intend to look at sexism in media workplaces.

The aim of the event is to discuss gender pay gap, discrimination against older women, maternity and flexible working issues and discrimination in redundancy situations.

The NUJ will also be holding women’s training on the Friday before the conference. The training event will start at 2pm on the 22 June and will also be held at Headland House.

The conference is open to all women members and the NUJ encourage all branches to send and sponsor at least one woman.

The Journalism Foundation is hosting a gala event to benefit the Foundation’s work supporting free and ethical journalism around the world.

The gala will raise money to support The Journalism Foundation's global projects, including the establishment of a new college of journalism in Tunisia, and also a programme to train young journalists in South Sudan.

Broadcaster Richard Bacon will host the evening, featuring Alexander Armstrong, Tim Minchin and ventriloquist Paul Zerdin also.

The night will culminate in an auction of 'money-can’t-buy' lots conducted by Simon de Pury including:

- lunch with Gillian Anderson, cooked by Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's

- tickets and flights to the world premiere in New Zealand of "The Hobbit"

- the only existing replica of the ring jeweler Stephen Webster created for Elizabeth Taylor

The Reporting Europe Prize, which is worth £500, honours excellence in reporting on the European Union in the English-speaking media during the previous year. It is awarded to a single piece of work (or a series of pieces) that excels in stimulating critical debate on European integration.

The winner of the 2012 prize will be announced at an award ceremony taking place at the Thomson Reuters building.

The programme includes a drinks reception, a video profiling shortlisted nominees and a keynote address.

Science news is available from an ever-increasing number of outlets, including charities and NGOs. The aim of this debate is to question how has it evolved, and where it should go in the future.

The College of Communication and Media Sciences at Zayed University invites educators, students and journalists to attend the 17th annual conference of the Arab-US Association of Communication Educators (AUSACE) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The event will feature keynote speeches from prominent journalists and media experts, as well as vibrant panel discussions about the state of journalism in the Arab world, and research presentations from communication and journalism experts from around the world.

The conference aims to examine and discuss ways in which educators and journalists can work together to help improve the practice of journalism in the Middle East.

AUSACE invite scholars from around the world to submit research presentations based on the theme 'Transforming Middle East Media: Creating a New Culture' with a focus on the role of journalism and media in Arab societies.

Titled "Media in a Challenging World: A 360 Degree Perspective," the three-day IPI World Congress will examine the many challenges, concerns and opportunities facing the media not only in the Caribbean, but also in the rest of the Americas and around the globe.
